About me
I write notes. Every school day for nearly a decade, I've tucked a Post-it into my kids' lunches. A small habit that turned into #DadLunchNotes — featured on TODAY, Good Morning America, and The Kelly Clarkson Show. And now the spine of a book I'm writing about fatherhood, mental health, and raising kind humans. That instinct — to communicate in ways that actually reach people — is also what I do for a living. For more than 20 years, I've helped organizations turn complex ideas into communication people understand and trust. Higher ed. K–12. College athletics. Today, I'm Associate Commissioner for Strategic Communications at the Louisiana Board of Regents, leading statewide messaging and campaign work in support of Louisiana's public higher education and workforce goals. Since 2023, my team and I have built work together that's earned nearly 40 regional and national awards. In 2026, I was named a Communicator of the Year finalist by the National Association of Government Communicators and selected for Leadership Baton Rouge's Class of 2026. I'm also an adjunct professor at LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication. I try to teach future communicators what I believe most: write plainly, think strategically, never underestimate the power of saying something human. Mental health advocacy is personal. As a NAMI ambassador, I've helped raise more than $12,000 through annual NAMIWalks campaigns — because awareness matters, and so do the people we lose when it's absent. Communication isn't about saying more. It's about saying what matters — clearly, honestly, with enough care that the person on the other end actually feels it. Thank-you notes included.
